AGM Topic - The lease, Carpeted Floors & Pets

An item for discussion at the 2017 AGM is lease enforcement regarding flooring and pets.  This issue is currently being discussed by various parts of the City, not least because a resident (not in Ben Jonson House as far as I know) has taken the matter of hardwood floors in a neighbouring flat to the local government ombudsman on the basis that the City have failed to enforce the lease.

A resident of Ben Jonson House has done some research into the lease and what it says about floor coverings and pets, and has produced some notes which you can read in full below.  I will use these notes as the basis for the discussion at the AGM.

While the house group has no direct powers to change the lease, its interpretation or enforcement, we can present the views of residents to the BEO and the City.
